Huawei P40 Pro, the next big thing from Huawei is officially here and there are some improvements in the camera department to look out for as expected. This series is quite popular among camera phone lovers but it’s the lack of Google Play services that make people think twice about this excellent phone. To learn more about the features and the Huawei P40 Pro South Africa price, continue reading.
Although some small changes in design here and there will remind you of other flagship phones, overall, it looks quite unique thanks to the new matte and glossy models. Moreover, there is no earpiece on the front side as it vibrates its screen to produce sound like the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Huawei P30 Pro. The usual two-tone color backs with rainbow-ish hue is not there and has been replaced by a glossy/matte finish which slightly helps with the fingerprint magnet situation. The display got a major upgrade as it’s a 6.58-inch OLED screen showing 2640 x 1200 pixels resolution, 441ppi of pixel density and 90Hz refresh rate which is a first for Huawei phones. This phone is available in different colors: Deep Sea Blue, Silver Frost, Black, Blush Gold and Ice White.
On paper, it might sound the same rear camera setup if you compare it with its predecessor. Huawei improved the camera by adding higher-resolution sensor and improved lenses. The main camera now packs a 50-megapixel Quad Bayer sensor with f/1.9 aperture and RYYB filter, the ultrawide camera is a 40-megapixel 18mm sensor with f/1.8 aperture and the telephoto camera is a 12-megapixel 125mm sensor with f/3.4 aperture. The main wide camera’s sensor is physically bigger than the one you will find in the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra’s 108-megapixel camera. As for the fourth one, it’s a ToF camera that improves the autofocus and portrait mode performance. There are some improvements in the front camera as well as it’s a 32-megapixel 26mm wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture that comes with improved autofocus and IR TOF 3D. There is also the OnePlus 8 Pro and Apple iPhone 11 Pro you can check out which is almost in the same price range as the Huawei P40 Pro South Africa price.
Performance is not really an issue in any of the high-end phones these days but if you are concerned, the new Huawei phone comes with a new HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G (7nm+) octa-core processor with 8GB of RAM and optional 128/256/512GB of built-in storage. The battery size is the same but the wireless charging speed got a boost as it supports 27W fast wireless charging now. Some of the other noteworthy features are: IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, Android 10.0 with EMUI 10.1, UFS 3.0, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, IR port, USB 3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and fingerprint sensor. The phone is officially available in some places which mean no need to wait for the Huawei P40 Pro release date South Africa.
The Huawei P40 Pro is quite expensive and will set you back about R 12500 . The phone was released back on April 7, 2020, which means no need to wait for the Huawei P40 Pro release date South Africa.
