Alcatel is all set to unveil their next flagship smartphone titled as the Alcatel 5. Although the company didn’t reveal any plans to announce this smartphone officially yet, it’s already making the rounds online thanks to the recently leaked rendered picture. It was easy to guess that this will be Alcatel’s next flagship phone judging from the specs and look. Before we get to more details, let’s check out the Alcatel 5 South Africa price first. It’s expected to be around R 4700 or more for now. To find out more about this phone and the Alcatel 5 release date South Africa, keep reading.
The first thing that will grab your attention about this upcoming phone is its near bezel-less display. While all the phones are following this trend, this once decided to keep only some bezels in the upper part and go bezel-less in the rest of the parts. Its luxurious design will definitely make you believe that it’s a high-end phone but the Alcatel 5 South Africa price suggests otherwise. This phone will be here with a 5.7-inch screen showing 1440 x 720 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Right after the Alcatel 5 release date South Africa, users will find this phone in two different colors: gold and black. If you are interested to check out some more phones with a near bezel-less display, there is the Essential Phone and iPhone X you can check out.
It’s too early to talk about the camera as the Alcatel 5 is not here yet, but we do know that it will be packing a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture on the back. It will be capable of capturing 1080p videos at 30fps. The front camera will be a dual one with one 13-megapixel camera and one 5-megapixel camera. Alcatel phones are not really known for their camera but it should get the job done if you are not planning to use this phone as your primary camera device. There is the Google Pixel 2 XL and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 if it’s a good camera
phone you are after. It will be a good idea to keep in mind that these phones are quite expensive compared to the Alcatel 5 South Africa price.
There is nothing surprising under the hood, the Alcatel 5 will be packing a Mediatek MT6750 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Users will get 32GB built-in storage but it can be expanded using the microSD card slot. This phone will be powered by a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery and it won’t include fast charging support from what we have learned so far. Other notable features include: USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack and Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. There is the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 if it’s phone with bigger battery you want.
The Alcatel 5 is expected to show up sometimes in February or March, 2018.
